Weird Weather
I was just sitting here at my desk this morning, working away, when I glanced out the window and saw these white "flakes" falling toward the ground. Immediately I thought, "is it SNOWING?!?!" I knew it was supposed to get down in the 30s overnight, but could it have gotten that cold already? After looking a bit closer, I realized that is was just the blossoms falling from the trees. Thank goodness. It will, however, be 20 degrees colder when I leave work this afternoon than when I got here this morning.

DC 3-Day '08

Yes, I’m doing it again - I signed up for the 2008 Breast Cancer 3-Day! I had such an incredible experience doing the 3-Day two years ago that I’m going back for more. This year, I will be walking in Washington, D.C. I’m so excited about this event, even though this year I really know what I’ve gotten myself into. I will be walking with Sonia again and we’ve joined a new team – Crewz’n 60.
This event isn’t easy, but I promise you, I wouldn’t be doing it if I didn’t believe 100% that it was worth every muscle ache, weary night and training walk.
I need your help. I am planning on surpassing the $2,200 that you - my friends and family - gave so generously last time around to help fight breast cancer.
Please visit my new blog that I’ve set up just for this walk. Here, you can make a donation, keep up with my fundraising & training progress, and see a video from the Tampa Bay walk two years ago. If you have any questions or want to hear more about what I’m doing, I love talking about the event. Thanks for all of your support. I’m incredibly lucky to have people like you in my life!
Don’t wait - donate today!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
What a game last night! I can't believe they pulled it off. Bryan, of course, is ecstatic and I am happy for him. There was much celebrating in the streets of Lawrence. I wonder how many of those students will be going to class today.
In other news, my parents are arriving tonight. I can't wait.

Sick Day
Yesterday I took my first sick day. Bryan & I had both had a run in with the stomach flu this week. Bryan got it first on Monday morning. I started feeling ill Tuesday afternoon so I decided to leave work early. I didn't have any work to do anyways. Luckily, Bryan was feeling better so he could take care of Madison. Although my stomach had calmed down by Wednesday morning, I decided to stay home anyways. I had no energy because I hadn't eaten anything since the day before (and whatever I tried to eat, just came back up). Bryan handled taking Maddie to daycare and I just pretty much slept all day. I'm feeling much better today, though still a little weak. If I stand up and move around too long, I start to feel dizzy. At least I can keep food down and I am slowly regaining strength. I went back to work today and was given somewhat of a brainless task to do. That is, it's easy and it doesn't require much thought. Perfect for a day like today.
In other news, Bryan is off to Florida for business this weekend. He'll be back Monday and my parents come for a visit on Tuesday. I wish I didn't have to work so I could spend more time with them and show them around KC. But since their only coming to see Madison, I guess it doesn't really matter that much. We're all going to a KC Royals game next Friday night. It's not against the Tigers. But considering how they've started the season already, it's probably a good thing.
