Last Saturday, we had our 2nd Annual C&P/Avid Engineers Company Picnic/Softball Game. We managed to squeak out a 20-7 win against Avid. The game was a lot like last year's game. I managed to get on base once. I made it all the way around until I was forced out at home. I missed the one fly ball that came my direction in right field, but luckily it was a foul ball (so I don't feel so bad). So for the second year in a row, we don't have to see Petunia (the boar's head trophy awarded to the losing team). Lunch was catered by O'Boys BBQ (hamburgers, hot dogs, & pulled pork). I made it home just before the rains came, which pretty much washed out the rest of my weekend.
I wish safe travels for Mom, Dad, Mike & Sonia as they leave for Europe on Thursday. Have I mentioned how INSANELY jealous I am. I want to travel abroad. Turning down that trip to Australia after my junior year of HS is one of (if not the) biggest regrets of my life so far. Someday I will go. I suppose, seeing that this is my parents first trip abroad (and their in their 50s), I shouldn't be upset that I'm only 27 and haven't been outside of North America (I almost made it to Mexico once, but that's another story). But traveling is one of my favorite things to do. And at this point of my life (being young & single) it's the perfect time to go (except for the fact that I have no money - that's my biggest hinderance). There are still several places within the continental United States that I would love to visit. I've actually hit quite a few in just the last couple of years: New York City (twice), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas (once was enough, but I went twice), Miami Beach. I still want to take a cruise in the Carribbean. Everytime I take a trip to Cocoa Beach, I have to drive by Port Canaveral and see all the cruise ships. And everytime, I say to myself, "one of these days, I'm going to get on one of those boats." There are even places within Florida that I would love to visit some weekend (the Keys, the Everglades). Most of my travels have been family related - holidays, weddings, Seth. I'm somewhat anxious to take a vacation (even if it's just for the weekend) just by and for myself (maybe or two of my friends could come along) to someplace I've never been. Not that I don't love vacationing with family. Mom, you're the BEST travel partner. And I LOVE every chance I get to see my family. I miss you guys so much. I'm quite grateful that I get to see them as much as I do. I sure there are several people who don't see their families HALF as much as I do and they may only live 20 miles away (instead of 1200). But there's nothing like a good old fashioned road trip with your girlfriends. But now that most of my closest friends are now married (or engaged), that plan may not happen anytime soon. But THAT's a subject for another time.

I hope you get to go somewhere fun! I too would like to see some of those places, although after hearing about Scotts long haul flights, that doesn't excite me too much to go to far off places. Too bad you can't just beam yourself there... Oh well.
I'm ready to go to London, just waiting for my ride. Lots of traveling going on. Ann's coming in from PHX, Sam's going to Vegas, have a great holiday.
Update so I can read it from a whole 'nother country.
