Another Setback

Well, our house didn't close on the 26th like it was supposed to. The bank was late in completing the paperwork and so it has been pushed back until March 12. The good news is that the house is still under contract to sell. The bad news is that we will have to may another month's mortgage payment.

Sick Babies

Both of my babies are sick. Bryan's had a bad cold since the weekend. Yesterday, Maddie's day care sent her home because they thought she had pink eye. It turns out that she does. She won't be able to go back until Thursday.

Good Sleep

I don't know what happened, and I could be jinxing myself here, but ever since Madison started day care, she's been sleeping most of the night. She's been sleeping 7+ hours every night. Unfortunately, though, she's been falling asleep around 7 or 8, so she still wakes up between 2 and 4. Last night, however, she fell asleep around 7:30 and slept until 5 am! She woke up happy, too. She was just smiling and kicking, and not crying. Maybe she's figured out that Mommy & Daddy need their sleep, too (especially now that we're BOTH working and BOTH getting up with her). Or else their doing something with her at day care which makes her so tired when we get home.

First Days

Yesterday was my first day back in the workforce. It went pretty well. I have a nice big desk right next to a wall of windows. My new coworkers seem really nice. I was invited to lunch with some of the girls. The work is quite different from what I'm used to and way more complex. But I think I can handle it and I'm ready for the challenge.

Yesterday was also Maddie's first day of day care. Her daily report informed me that she did great and was an "awesome baby" (of course I already new that). The teacher even told me that some of the boys were trying to roll over next to her. I'm going to have to keep an extra close eye on her.

Today is Day 2 on a wet and stormy Tuesday morning. It was absolutely GORGEOUS yesterday. So maybe some of you Michiganders will have a beautiful day today.

A Lot Has Happened

A lot has happened since I last blogged. Let's see now...

1. Madison was baptized January 27th. All except Sam were able to attend. Sonia & Kristie served as her Godparents.

2. Shortly thereafter Madison got sick. It was just a bad cough due to a cold. But she was very uncomfortable and there was nothing I could do to comfort her. The doctor didn't reccommend giving her any kind of medicine. She's been doing better, but still coughs from time to time.

3. On Monday morning I had a job interview with a firm called ACIBoland. They pretty much offered me a job on the spot. Later that same day, Klover Architects gave me an offer as well. After much consideration, I accepted the ACI offer. I start work tomorrow.

4. On Thursday, we purchased a new vehicle - a 2008 Ford Escape. It's really nice. It's black with beige leather interior, heated front seats, dual temperature control, moonroof, sattelite radio. I get to drive it, but only because it has 4 doors. Otherwise, I really much rather drive my Cavalier.

5. On Friday, we enrolled Maddie in the Primrose School for day care.

6. Last night, I went to my first KU basketball game (women's). It was the National Women and Girls in Sports Day. Bryan's Aunt Marlene (his mom's twin sister) started the women's athletic program there some 40 years ago. They were naming their Female Athlete of the Year Award in her honor. It was a lot of fun, though not quite the same atmosphere as a men's game (so I'm told).
Well I think that about catches you up for now.
