Bowling: Week 3

Amy: 113 94 133
Bryan: 144 125 162

I don't remember Jon & Becky's scores. That's just too many numbers for my brain to handle.

After bowling, Jon & Becky and Carmen & Tony joined us for dinner at Pei Wei. It was a lot of fun.

I Thought This Was Florida!

Now I thought I lived in Florida. Ok, so it IS January, but there still shouldn't be a wind chill of 32 degrees! It sure didn't make getting out of bed any easier, but I'll tell you this. As soon as I stepped out the door, I was wide awake! It's supposed to be even colder tomorrow morning. But the sun is DEFINITELY shining (unlike up there).

Big Band And The Beach

On Saturday afternoon, Bryan & I went to a Big Band concert with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. I had gotten two free tickets because I had filled out a survey. I was a little disappointed with the concert. I only knew a couple of the songs. I think we were the youngest people there.
On Sunday, we drove out to Clearwater Beach. There were quite a few people there and a few crazies who actually got in the water. The temperature was only in the upper 70s. Not quite warm enough for me to get in, but I could still soak up the sunshine. How cool is it to be able to go to the beach in the middle of January!!! We stayed until sunset then made our way back home. We stopped at this cool mongolian barbeque place near Lakeland for dinner.

Bowl-O-Rama

Bryan & I joined a bowling "fun" league with people from Trinity. We're on a team with Jon & Becky. Last night was our first game. I did OK. I got a few strikes, but had quite a few bad bowls inbetween. My scores were 115, 136, 94. Bryan did really well. He got 2 Turkeys (that's when you bowl 3 strikes in a row). It was a lot of fun and I can't wait until next week.

Typo

This is from the monthly Disney newsletter I get for Florida Residents:

Take yourself out to the ball game this March! See the Atlanta Braves vs. the Mets, Yankees and World Series Champion Detroit Tigers in spring training at Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex.

It's nice of them to think that we actually won. But Spring Training tickets DO go on sale tomorrow. I've already picked out the games I want to attend:
March 3 vs Cleveland
March 10 vs Boston
March 25 vs New York Yankees
March 27 @ Atlanta/WDW (tentative due to scheduling conflict)

Ticket prices DID go up a bit, but the most expensive seats are are only $20. I'm probably going to have to purchase tickets ahead of time if I want good seats. But the less expensive General Admission spots in the grass are fun, too.

Back To The Real World

It's so hard coming back to work after a long vacation. My alarm clock was much unwelcomed this morning. I had 172 new email messages in my inbox. Only about 10 of them were "work" related and about another 5 were important personal messages. That means the other 90% were junk. It took me a while to remember what I was working on before I left. I had a very nice holiday break, despite being sick for most of it. The worst part was that due to my illness, I couldn't get too close to Seth. I had to settle with making kissy faces at him from afar, which still made him smile and giggle. It was nice that even when I returned back to Florida, I still had a few days left of vacation. My New Year's Eve celebration was quite dull. I spent most of the night cleaning, took a shower, and got out just in time to watch the ball drop. I was in bed by 12:02. Bryan is still in Kansas City with his family or else we would have spent New Year's Eve together (for those of you who haven't heard or haven't just figured it out, we got back together just after Thanksgiving). My New Year's Day was much more exciting. I went to Micelle & David's for a fondue party and to watch football. By the end of the 3rd quarter of the Rose Bowl, it was quite obvious that Michigan wasn't going to win, so instead, we all played a game of Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture DVD Edition. My team lost horribly. It didn't help that I am really bad a trivia and my partner was only 22. It was still lots of fun.

Happy 2007 to everyone. I pray that your year is full of many blessings!
