New Skills

Here is a picture of my big girl sitting in her high chair. After eating her cereal for dinner, she enjoyed playing with the toys. She likes to play with anything that she can grab and put in her mouth. She learned a new skill today. When I was changing her diaper this evening, I waved to her and she waved back. It was so cute. I should have gotten a video of it somehow.

Happy Easter

Here is a picture of Madison on her first Easter. Grandma Helman gave her this easter basket filled with baby food and a chocolate bunny (Mommy may have to help her eat that one). As you can see, she's starting to sit up pretty well on her own. Another big milestone is that she cut her first tooth. I had noticed that she had been a little crankier than usual. She was drooling like crazy and couldn't keep her hands out of her mouth. When I picked her up from daycare on Friday, I looked on her bottom gum and there was a little white sliver poking through.

March Madness

Well, the NCAA tourney is off and playing. This is the best part of the season, in my opinion. To make it more interesting, I've entered a bracket pool at work. After day 1, I'm at the top of the rankings with all 16 correct picks! I'm actually tied with one other person, but since my name begins with an A, I'm listed first. I didn't even ask my husband for help. It's truly pure luck. We'll see how I do today. We also have another pool where for $1 you can "buy" a team (one men's team & 1 women's team) by drawing it out of a hat. If your team makes it to the Final 4, you win $8. If they win it all, you win $32. You can buy as many teams as you want until they're all gone. So if you draw a number 1 or 2 seed, you've got a good shot at winning some cash. If you draw a low seed, well, that's the luck of the draw. I drew Temple for the men (who already lost to MSU - GO SPARTANS!!!) and Stanford for the women (a #2 seed).

6 Months

Can you believe that my baby girl is almost half a year old!? Today she had her 6-Month Well Baby Checkup. She's 14 lb, 2 oz & 25 in long. She's still small for her age, but starting to catch up. But seeing as she started out small, it's more about her progress. The doctor said she looked very healthy. She had more shots today (two in each leg). The good news is that she won't have to have them again until she's a year old.
